Abstract

145,487. Decker, W. May 7, 1918, [Convention date.]. Breech actions, sliding breech-block; firing-appliances. - Relates to automatic guns with slip-lock tiring mechanism, and consists of mechanism wherein the firing-pin is retracted by a sear pivoted at the free end of a lever actuated by the trigger, the sear being disengaged from the firing - pin towards the end of the pull of the trigger by engaging a fixed cam. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the hooked sear 1 is pivoted to a lever 2 actuated by a link 10 from the trigger 9. Towards the end of the trigger pull the tail 8 of the sear is raised to release the firing-pin by engaging a fixed incline 7 on the breech-frame. In a modification, Fig. 2, a thumb-actuated trigger 9 at the rear of the grip is employed.
