214,732. Harrington, F. C. A., and Harrington Standardized Typewriter Co., Ltd. Jan. 27, 1923. Paper-carriages.-In machines of the type in which the platen is adapted to be adjusted relatively to the frame of the machine to enable the typing surface to be maintained in the correct position and so to compensate for wear, the platen-carriage is made adjustable along the axis of the running rollers. The rollers 3, which support the carriage 2 on the rail 5, are loosely mounted on spindles 7 screwing' into sleeves 7<1>. The rollers are held against' longitudinal displacement between the sleeves, which screw into the frame 2, and shoulders 11 on thespindles.
