Abstract

214,602. Julian, P. April 17, 1923, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors. -The supply of additional air is controlled according to atmospheric temperature by a valve influenced bv the vapour pressure of a liquid contained in an expansible chamber. A throttle valve 2 rotatable in the casing 1 has an ordinary bearing 3 and a special bearing in a plate 4 provided with a passage which places the extra air conduit 6 leading to the induction pipe, in communication with an aperture 8 controlled by a valve 10. The extra air enters through apertures 19. The valve 10 is connected to a flexible diaphragm 13 soldered to the upper edge of a chamber 14 containing the liquid. The diaphragm, which may be loaded by a spring, can only occupy the two positions in which the valve 10 is fully open and completely closed.
