Abstract

A rolling mill comprising a mechanism (8) for feeding the work-piece (7) and a frame (11) with at least one cassette mounted inside it and carrying a working roller (2) and a supporting roller (3) the latter rolling around a support (5). The rolling mill is provided with a damping device (23), a step-by-step drive of the feeding mechanism being executed as a differential reduction gear. The rolling mill is intended for pressing in cold and heated condition up to 90 to 95 per cent of alloys difficult to form such as alloy steels, bronze, brass etc., including alloys produced by continuous casting.
