Abstract
Via free wheel mechanisms (18, 19), the pedal cranks (12, 13) of a bicycle drive, during their respective downword travels, a crank axle on which is fixed the conventional toothed disc (7). The motion of the pedal cranks (12, 13) are made symmetric by kinematic means (17) formed by two sectors of conical toothed wheels (31, 32) and a conical reversing gear (33). Stop means (20), with a fixed transverse bar (50) cooperating with the edges cut out parts (51) provided in the cranks (12, 13), limit the angular motions of the cranks to an angle smaller than 130`.
