Abstract

208,147. Felten & Guilleaume Carlswerk Akt.-Ges. Dec. 5, 1922, [Convention date]. Electromagnets.-Magnet cores' for inductance coils &c. are constructed of powdered iron alloy, such as silicon and nickel alloy, having a higher permeability than iron and compressed to a specific gravity of 5.5-6. The pressures used are about 3000-4000 kilograms per square centimetre, and the insulating material comprises 2-7 per cent of the iron alloy. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), describes the use of phenol resins for insulating the alloy particles, the resins being rendered insoluble and infusible by heating. This subjact-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
