Abstract
206,681. Santz, A. Oct. 23, 1922. Couplings for road vehicles and trains.-In a hook and link coupling the frame for the reception of the coupling hook is provided with a recessed portion or aperture intermediate the hook and front of the vehicle which is adapted for the reception of the coupling link so that in the inserted position the upper portion of the link covers the mouth of the coupling hook whilst the lower portion bears against a stop on the frame. The coupling hook 2, Fig. 1, has an extension 4 which is bent at 5 to form a closed eye for the coupling link 6. An aperture 7 in the frame work 1 is adapted to receive the link 6 and a stop 8 forms a ledge on which the bottom of the link rests when the coupling is locked. In Fig. 3, the extension 4 forms a " T " head, the cross-piece 9 of which forms a stop for the link 6 when the coupling is in the locked position.
