Abstract

Fusibbe cut-outs. - The armature between a fusible member F and the contact elements of a renewable fuse is a bolt and nut G which clamps the fuse between two angle members N, O external to the casing, one of these members N having a ring portion C fitting tightly over the end of the casing A. The second member O closes the opening in the end of the casing and is sufficiently resilient to act as a valve and relieve the pressure when the fuse blows. A cap containing an asbestos washer disposed over an aperture H screwed over the angle member serves to cool the issuing gases. The fuse casing may be filled with an insulating powder.
