Abstract

A folding rear seat (42) for a multi-use vehicle is fitted with an improved seat cushion hinge mechanism (48) to connect a seat cushion (44) to the vehicle floor (56). The seat cushion hinge mechanism (48) includes a first hinge bracket (66), a second hinge bracket (68) pivotally connected to the first hinge bracket and formed with a guiding slot (78) with at least two locking notch sections eg (82), a slider member (76) engaged in the guiding slot and a link (72) having one end pivotally connected to the first hinge bracket and the other end carried by the slot. The slider member is shiftable between first and second operative positions and adapted so that in the first operative position it is slidable in said guiding slot throughout the length thereof and in the second operative position it is in locking engagement with either of the two locking notch sections. <IMAGE>
