Abstract

A torque transmission device is provided in which reversal of the direction of rotation of a intermediate driving wheel 13, 13a alters which of two output wheels (11, 12) is driven. An element 15 is pivotable about the axis of the intermediate wheel 13a and supports a rotatable driven wheel 14. The element 15 is in frictional contact with the intermediate wheel 13a and rotates with it until the driven wheel 14 engages on output wheel (11 or 12). The driven wheel 14 meshes with the intermediate wheel 13a and transmits torque to one of the output wheels (11 or 12) when engaged. Reversal of the direction of rotation of the intermediate wheel 13a causes the element 15 to pivot and move the driven wheel 14 into engagement with the other output wheel (12 or 11). <IMAGE>
