Abstract

201,184. Karavodine, V. de. July 24,. 1922, [Convention date]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Spray carburettors. -Fuel is sprayed by the centrifugal action of rods, discs and the like rotating at a high speed. An axle E driven by the engine, the magneto, the air fan or the like carries rods F which rotate between rods H fixed to the wall of the chamber G containing fuel into which the ends of the rods dip. The fuel is maintained at a constant level by float mechanism in a tank K which may be adjusted in height to vary the level, the connecting tube X being flexible. Air controlled by a throttle valve N passes through a pipe P to a chamber R whence it passes through ports into the spraying chamber G. The valve N may also admit air direct to the engine suction passage O. Various modifications are described. The rods H may be dispensed with and the rods F may be replaced by circular brushes or by discs with plain or saw-tooth edges. The fuel may be sprayed into chamber G, or may be supplied through the axle E. This axle mav be vertical and the interior formed as an Archimedean screw which however may be replaced by a cone.
