Abstract
A flanged joint structure for enabling a first member (10) made from a fibre reinforced composite material to be bolted to a second member (16) includes a continuous flange (18) extending at right angles to the member 10, and an intermediate connecting portion 24, 26 which is bonded to the first member and joined to the flange along a line which alternately passes above and below the mean plane of the loads applied by the bolts. This construction minimises bending loads in the flange. <IMAGE>
