Abstract

An AC power supply circuit (A) comprises a DC source (18), an inverter (5) and an intervening circuit between the DC source and the inverter and including reactance means (3,4) for smoothing the DC signal supplied to the inverter. A voltage regulator (11) maintains the voltage at an output terminal (9) at preset value. In order to reduce transient variations in the output voltage due to variations in the DC source (18), a current (ic) in the reactance means (3,4) which is proportional to the time derivative of the output voltage of the inverter is monitored to provide a signal supplied as an auxiliary control signal to the voltage regulator (11). The DC source includes an AC supply 18 rectifier 2, with battery standby 15 and associated change over control 16, 17. <IMAGE>
