Repairing leaks.-A clip or bracket for supporting fixtures on frame tubes &c. or for clamping shields over leaks in pipes comprises a hollow body portion a, providing side walls a<1>, a<2> with inturned flanges a<3>, and a flexible metal band c secured by a screw d to a block b in the body a and doubled back upon itself as shown to form jaws to carry blocks e, the jaws being tightened round the tube by screws f screwing through the body and engaging in grooves in the blocks e. In the modification, Fig. 6, the body a is formed of two L-section parts clamped together and has its ends a' grooved on their ianer faces to cooperate with 'bevelled projections e' on the blocks e projecting -through holes in the band c so that on drawing the band c upwards by turning the nut l on the screwed stem d of the block b, which is free to move within the cheeks of the body a, the jaws are closed together. In Fig. 9, the body is formed from separate plates a<4>, as connected by an integral or separate bridging-piece a<6> having a hole for the screwed stem d. The ends of the plates a<4>, a<5> may 'be doubled over inwards, Fig. 10, when the outer parts may sorve as guides for the blocks e as shown in Fig. 11, which also shows the inner faces of the plates a<4>, a<5> formed tapered so as to enter a cut-away portion of the band c and engage in grooves in the blocks e. Instead of the plates a', a<5> meeting at their ends a<7>, as shown, bridging blocks with grooved or tapered faces formed thereon may be inserted. In the modification, Fig. 15, the screw d bearing on a bridging piece n integral with cr secured to the plates a is rotated to draw the block b and with it the band c upwards.
