Abstract
A transmission for a pedal propelled vehicle, e.g. a pedal car, to enable the vehicle to be pedalled and free wheeled in either the forward or reverse direction, comprises two cycle type free wheel devices 73, 74 mounted in spaced relation on an output shaft 20, and an input pulley or sprocket 76 with side flanges 77, 78 moveable on the shaft between the free wheel devices. Dogs 79, 80 protrude laterally from the input pulley to engage selectively with sprocket teeth of the free wheel devices. In an intermediate position of the input pulley or sprocket, the dogs are disengaged from both the free wheel devices. <IMAGE>
