Abstract

198,445. Davenport, J. A. March 7, 1922. Mixing-valves; interconnecting two valve members.-A mixing-valve comprises two plug cocks arranged on the same axial line, and connected together by an Oldham coupling. The two plug cocks 1, 2 are formed in separate casings and are connected to a common mixing chamber 3 so that each fluid has no temperature or corrosive effect on the other cock. The plugs are connected by an Oldham coupling 5 so that an error in alignment is not material. The operating lever may project from the coupling or from the end of one of the plugs. The ports 6, 7 are arranged so that either may be fully opened while the other is closed, or both may be partly open for mixing. More than two mixing cocks may be combined in a similar manner. Grease cups 43 are provided, and spring washers 13 between the gland and plug. Mixing is facilitated by the perforated tube 8, or in the case of a number of fluids, successive mixing chambers are arranged in series.
