Abstract

196,688. Preston, L. G., Hughes, H. G., and Mullard, S. R. Jan. 26, 1922. Vacuum tubes. - An internal lead E is connected to the anode A or to the anode support at the end G<1> of the anode remote from the anode seal so as to avoid the necessity for breaking the anode seal in repairing the valve. The anode may be mounted in insulating cups C, which, at one end of the valve, may be hollowed out to allow expansion of the parts. The lead E may be sealed through a tube J, which may support one of the cups. For effecting repairs, the envelope is opened near the end G<1>.
