Abstract

Pulleys.-In built-up belt pulleys, a pair of dished discs d are provided with inner flanges f engaging respectively with the hub a and a nut c so that as the nut is screwed upon the hub outer flanges g on the discs are pressed into frictional engagement with the pulley rim e. A flanged ring may be inserted between the outer edges of the discs. The discs may have slots l, k at their inner and outer edges to increase their elasticity and may be completely severed radially to provide a gap m to facilitate assembly. Pins n in the hub may engage the edges of the gap m to prevent rotation of the discs on the hub. The rim e may be divided and provided at its meeting edges with lugs h engaging recesses in the disc edges, a bolt o securing the parts in position to ensure that the discs and rim turn together.
