Abstract

194,939. Hillman Motor Car Co., Ltd., and Green, E. A. March 18, 1922. Folding-seats. - In a tip-up seat, for use on vehicles, of the kind wherein the back is hinged to the base and is acted on by a link so that when the base is tipped forward the back automatically folds down upon it, the back is extended below its pivot and the link connects the extension of the back to a fixed point just above the pivot to the base. In the form shown, depending lugs A on the seat frame A<3> are pivoted to short uprights B, and the back frame D is pivoted at C to extensions A<4> of the seat frame. The link E is pivoted to the extension D<2> of the back and to the upright B. A foot-rest F serves as a handle to tip the seat.
