Abstract
193,084. Marks, E. C. R., (Soc. Anon. Integra). Oct. 10, 1921. Liquid-level pressure gauges.-Comprises a U- tube gauge the indicating leg 2 being of narrow bore and the other leg to which pressure fluid is admitted being fitted with a widened p o r t i o n 13 at about the level of the middle of the indicating leg at which level the "zero" graduation is placed so that the gauge may indicate both pressure and depression. The indicating leg or tube dips into a tank 1 at the bottom of the pressure tube. The pressure fluid is brought in from below through the pipe 14. The inlet for this pipe 14 is fitted with a three-way cock 4 which permits of communication with the free atmosphere. The lower part of the apparatus is provided with holes 9 -by which a series of such gauges may be threaded on a series of rods supported by brackets. The tank 1 is fitted with a plug stopper 6 in order to empty it when desired which plug is situated vertically below the indicating tube in order to facilitate cleaning. To economize liquid, the tank 1 may be fitted with a false bottom, the mercury communicating with the tube 2 by a small channel.
