Abstract

18,534. Terry, C. Aug. 11. Diats and scales.-Relates to the provision, in a self-contained device for indicating the weight contained in a truck, lorry, &c. which is placed between the sprung body and the chassis of the truck and is actuated by their relative movement, of means for calibrating the scale. Two telescopic members a, bare pressed apart by a spring c, one member carrying a rack d gearing with a pinion e, pivoted on the other member, which moves an index hand f over a quadrantal scale g. The numerals &c. of the scale are each mounted on separate plates h adjustably clamped in position by means of a curved plate i. For use with a n y particular truck &c., the device is first placed in position between the sprung body and the chassis, the truck &c. is loaded with known weights and the graduated plates h are adjusted to the positions assumed by the pointer f, the device then being correct for future use.
