Condenser systems. - Steam-condensing plant for marine use in which the circulating-water is supplied and discharged by scoops b, c is provided with a pump p or other device which supplies water to a portion f of the condenser a under all conditions of manoeuvring. The pump system may have separate sea connexions or may be connected to the scoops, which may be provided with partitions n. Either the upper or the lower portion of the condenser may be supplied by the pump. The pump may also obtain its supply from a suitably valved pipe connecting the scoops, or may draw water directly from the sea and discharge through a pipe system to either end of the condenser.
