Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means.- In a high - speed internal-combustion engine having fly - wheels enclosed in the crank chamber, the oil that adheres to the flywheels is removed and distributed by a pair of baffles- or scrapers h, placed in a circular chamber between the cylinder a and the crank chamber b. The edges of -the baffles are inclined upwards and inwards. The oil that is thrown inwards flows down the connecting- rod i to lubricate the bearing m, and that thrown upwards is thrown on to the joint-pin of the piston, and also passes through holes n to the outer face of the piston.
