16,981. Sutcliffe, R. July 25. Clutches, claw. - Relates to claw clutches operated by cam levers, specially applicable for use with the hauling - drums of coal - cutting machines &c. Teeth c on the drum b are adapted to be engaged by teeth g on a clutch collar f, bearing on which, with or without a ball bearing i, is a lever k with V-shaped radial projections m engaging similar projections on a fixed part n. Movement of the lever k by friction is prevented by removable stops. The collar f and drum b are graduated to indicate when the teeth g, c are in register.
