Abstract

26,364. Walsall Locks and Cart Gear, Ltd., and Harrison, W. G. Nov. 14. Padlocks.-A padlock is provided with two shackles B, B' pivoted side by side, and each adapted to be operated separately by the key. A division plate C within the casing separates the locking-mechanisms E, E<1> of the shackles. In one form, each shackle is operated by the key from its own side of the casing, a pin on the division plate or a hole therein receiving the key according to whether a pipe or a pin key is used. In a second form, a keyhole is provided in the division plate C out of line with the casing keyhole, so that the key, having operated one shackle, can be passed through the plate to operate the other. In a further modification, one shackle only is employed with two sets of mechanism, which must be operated separately by the key.
