Abstract

27,194. Legge, J., and Chilton, H. H. Nov. 26. Hasp locks; two-bolt locks.-The spring latch bolt of a nozzle or hasp lock can be withdrawn by the key of the lock bolt. The key pin E is secured to a plate D which is capable of sliding in the casing against the action of a spring F. When the lock bolt G has been withdrawn, a further turn of the key brings the bit against a cam-surface H on the lock bolt, and since this cannot move, causes the plate D to slide to the right, carrying with it the key pin and the key. The key passes through the usual sliding nozzle rigidly connected to the latch bolt (not shown), so that the latch is withdrawn when the plate D is moved. A projection on the latch bolt abuts against a projection g on the plate D, so that the spring F serves to return the latch to its normal position.
