Abstract

3604. Mosnier, G. Feb. 14. Preserving grain. - Maize, rice, &c. are preserved during t r a n s p o r t o r storage by gases generated b y burning sulphur in a furnace O. The gases are passed through a refrigerator and re-heating tubes A, so that they are delivered to the maize &c. at about 70‹ C. Air for drying the grain is passed by a separate fan &c. through the tubes A or through a casing K. The tubes are connected as required by detachable bends H which are attached by screwcouplings a, b, c, Fig. 4.
