13,278. Crowther, W. E., and Jones, T. H. June 7. Drilling; hand and breast drills.- Drills are driven at a higher speed than the spindles by means of epicyclic gearing. The drill chuck carries a runw b e e l 4, planetwheels 2 are carried by the spindle, and an annular wheel 6 is knurled at 1 for a hand grip. The wheel 6 may be held by means of a tommy-bar. To drive the chuck directly, a sliding bolt 8, operated by a cam 9, is pressed into a slot in the spindle.
