Abstract

188,235. Sibils, J. R. Dec. 8, 1921. Holders.-A lamp holder 1 of porcelain or the like is screwed internally at 2 to receive a readily-detachable Edison screw sleeve 4 of metal carrying the terminals and adapted to engage a locking-ring 11 at its end. The poicelain terminal block 5 is secured to the sleeve 4 bv two screws 6, 7, one of which, 6, acts as a terminal. The other terminal is constituted by a central metal part 10 secured to the block 5 by a screw 9 and having an offset portion 8, Fig. 3, for the live wire. A stamped or spun metal socket 3 is secured in the top of the porcelain body 1 and is screwed for affixing the holder to a bracket or a wooden block through which the leads pass. The porcelain ring 11 is screwed on the bottom of the liner 4 and serves to support a shade and to secure the parts of the holder together.
