Locks, revolving-barrel; clamps, screw.-Means for locking cycle lamps and other articles to their supports comprises a locking-claw 9 pivotally connected to an axially-displaceable sleeve 4 which, when displaced, causes the locking-claw to turn about its pivot 8 by reason of its engagement with the internal surface of a pocket 13 formed in the lamp socket 2 so that its lower arm 10 engages a slot 14 formed in the bracket 11. The sleeve 4, which is screwed internally, is displaced by a key-operated screw 6 disposed transversely of the lamp socket 2. Means are provided for preventing rotation of the screw 6 except by a special key. As shown in Fig. 5, such means comprise a barrel 15 on the end of the screw working in a housing 19 secured to the lamp socket and normally locked against rotation by spring-pressed plungers 23 disposed in holes 21 drilled in wings 18 on the housing and projecting into corresponding holes in the barrel 15. On a key 16 being inserted into a slot in the barrel, the plungers 23 are raised flush with the surface of the barrel through the medium of an inner set of plungers 24 projecting into the key slot in the barrel, thereby freeing the screw for rotation. According to the Provisional Specification, other means such as spring-operated pawls engaging projections on the screw may be used for preventing rotation thereof.
