Abstract

184,457. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. Aug. 10, 1921, [Convention date]. Compound or articulated road vehicles; couplings.-A coupling, particularly'intended for connecting a tractor and trailer, is constructed so as to facilitate connection when the two parts are not in the exact position fcr engagement. The coupling bolt E on the trailer is adapted to swing about a vertical axis d<1>, and the eye B on the tractor pivots about a transverse axis b<1> in a bracket C which is connected to the tractor frame by a vertical pivot c'. The eye B is positioned on the bolt E by a wedge F and a hinged latch G. The end of the trailer is supported, when disconnected, and is adjusted vertically to facilitate engagement, by wheels H carried by a pivoted frame K which is adjusted by a lifting screw J.
