Abstract

Gas exits.-A gas exit comprises a chamber a extending across t h e bottom of the cell and having communication with the space above the electrolyte through tubes c<2>, c<1>, c. A tube d open to the atmosphere leads into a chamber e communicating with the chamber a by means of a tube g provided with a baffle i. Baffles f are provided within the chamber e and a baffle or baffle chamber may also be fitted to the tube c. The tubes c<2>, d may be situated inside or outside the cell. The end of the tube c is arranged to be above the level of the electrolyte when the cell is inverted. The chamber a may be provided with a screw stopper to enable any accumulated acid to be removed.
