Washing-machines with pumps for circulating liquids; wringers, driving-gear for; attaching to tubs.-The clothes are circulated in a conical or cylindrical tub 10 by water which is forced in through a nozzle 24 and withdrawn by the circulating-pump 20 from a chamber 11 below a removable perforated grid 12. The water leaves this chamber by way of a flared pipe 13, and the portion of the grid immediately above this pipe is left imperforate. The tub is supplied with water from a pipe system 28 through a flexible tube 27, two-way valve 26, and the pump and outflow pipe 13. By adjusting the valve, the tub mav be emptied or the circulation permitted. A wringer mounted upon an arm horizontally swivelled to a bracket on the tub is driven by its own motor, also carried by the arm.
