Abstract

Springs, arrangement of.-Relates to spring suspensions for motor vehicles &c. in which an axle is connected to the chassis by pairs of laminated springs, each pair comprising a semi-elliptic and a cantilever spring. According to the invention, the axle is supported beneath the semi-elliptic spring by clips or clamps and is linked to the free end of the cantilever spring. As shown in Fig. 1, the connection between the front axle 2 and the cantilever spring 3 comprises a link 8 and Cardan joint 9, 10, 11. As shown in Fig. 3, the cantilever spring 33 is arranged above the semi-elliptic spring 34 and is connected to the front axle 35 by a link 47, while the end 37 of the semi-elliptic spring 34 is mounted to slide in a part 41 of the member 39 by which the cantilever spring is pivoted to the chassis. When applied to a rear axle, the semi-elliptic spring may be secured to a sleeve rotating on the axle casing or to a support fixed to the casing. Specification 115,831 is referred to.
