Abstract

173,299. Burkitt, E. D. Sept. 23, 1920. Multiple fastenings for doors; staples for locks and latches.-In an additional security device for doors &c. the ordinary latch bolt d, when shot. strikes an adjustable stud e in the end f of a spring- pressed lever b pivoted at c on the door frame, causing the bolt h on the other end of the lever b to engage a staple i on the door. On withdrawal of the bolt d to open the door, the bolt h is withdrawn by the spring g acting on the lever b. A duplicate bolt-lever arrangement may be employed, as shown.
