Vacuum closures.-A cap for the sealing of bottles, jars, boxes, and other receptacles by means of a vacuum consists of a stamped metallic member having a circular part 1 and an end part 2 the central part 3 of which is concave, a resilient washer or ring 5 being held in an inner groove 4 at the junction of the wall 1 and end 2. The edge of the wall 1 of the cap which projects beyond the rim of the bottle may be pressed in under the rim.
