A mov able blade d is pivoted on a pin e between a pair o outer blades c and is operated by a mov able handle b hav ing a cam or tooth f engaging a groove or slot i in the blade d the blade being actu ated by the move ment of the handle b towards the fixed handle a. The sheared strip is guided by, and passes outwardly against, a curved shoulder l on the movable blade, and part of the inner faces m of the blades c are milled or reduced in thickness to facilitate the guiding of the strip as the tool advances.
