Disc wheels; spokes, securing.-Metal wheels consist of a centre having spokes B with slotted ends B<2> for the reception of a felloe ring C and a tyre D shrunk on or integral with the ring. The hub A and spokes B may be forged from a single piece, but, preferably, the hub is cast on to the spokes. The felloe ring is fitted in position by heating the ends of two or more adjacent spokes and knocking down one side of the slots, which is afterwards returned to its normal position. According to the Provisional Specification, the centre may be formed by slitting a bar from each end longitudinally nearly to the centre and spreading the arms so formed at right angles to each other.
