Abstract
160,265. Anderson, C. E., and Wilson, W. W. Dec. 16, 1919. Lift valves; actuating-mechanism; ball and float valves.-In cam-actuated lift valves as described in Specification 138,214 a claw g<1> or the like, carried by the closing-cam g*, passes through a slot e<3> in the valve stem and effects a positive withdrawal of the valve in opening. The claw g<1> also prevents rotation of the valve stem so that this can be made of circular cross-section. This arrangement is applicable to hand-actuated valves, as shown, or to ball and float valves.
