Abstract
159,559. Curd, S. G. Nov. 20, 1919. Generating by indirect contact of heated gases.- In a reversible regenerative gas - fired open - hearth furnace for melting glass and other materials, boilers N are located in the lower regenerator chambers L where they are heated by the furnace gases. The steam generated in the boilers is led to steam superheating coils U located in the upper regenerator chambers E, the superheated steam being supplied to gas producers A.
