Abstract

156,411. General Electric Co., Ltd., and Durdle, O. Jan. 2, 1920. Vacuum tubes.-The support d for the loop a of a cathode filament is made of steatite. A wire g passing through the support is formed at one end as a hook f engaging with the loop, and at the other end has a head j against which a washer k is pressed by a light helical spring m. The support fits in a ring c mounted on a frame b carrying the grid. In a modification the spring m is omitted, and the loop is connected through a spring with the hook. It is stated that steatite does not occlude gas.
