Abstract

The double backflow preventer (15) in a water gulley is releasably introduced into a housing (10) and, at the same time, forms an odour seal. The opening (30) of the double backflow preventer (15) in the direction of the backwater is closed by means of an automatic non-return flap (34) which is fastened directly on the preventer housing. The second preventer member is a disc valve (23) which can be closed via a spindle and closes the second opening of the housing vertically. The closure direction of the disc valve is counter to the direction of the backwater flow. The largest opening stroke (29) of the disc valve (23) is restricted by a spacer tube (28). This results in a double backflow preventer which is susceptible neither to corrosion nor soiling and fully releases the passage to the discharge channel during cleaning. <IMAGE>
