Abstract
The valve arrangement is used for closing the live-steam pipe in the secondary circuit of a pressurised water reactor. It comprises a main valve, the valve piston (6) of which is acted upon by an internal medium. Provided on the main valve is a storage space (26) for the internal medium which is connected to the pressurised pipe at the inlet of the main valve. The storage space (26) is connected to the pressure space (8) above the valve piston (6) by control lines in which magnetically pilot-controlled valves (30, 33) operated by the same pressure medium are arranged. Above the piston seat, the valve piston (6) of the main valve contains a relief space (12) which is provided with lateral outlet openings (14) and the central inlet opening (13) of which is closed by a conical part (15). In the closed position of the main valve, the conical part (15) can be raised from its seat independently of the valve piston (6) by way of another magnetically pilot-controlled auxiliary valve (35) and a piston secured on the spindle (16) of the conical part (15). By means of this independent safety device, it is possible to ensure that the pressure in the evaporator does not rise excessively with the main valve closed. <IMAGE>
