Abstract

1284416 Valves IFOVERKEN AB 9 Oct 1969 [10 Oct 1968 27 March 1969] 49736/69 Heading F2V In a flushing valve a spherical rubber closure 24 is connected to a plunger 25 which moves against a fluid-pressure bias to uncover inlet ports 10d, 10c in the walls of inlet chamber 10b when the closure is moved away from a seat 11c by a cam-operated stem 23 and so permit flow via restrictions 11b to an outlet chamber 28. The arm 18 connected to the actuating cam may be operated by a float. In a modification forming a tap the stem is actuated by a manuallyrotated spindle threaded in a bore of the housing. In a further modification the stem is actuated by a bimetal spring and the valve mixes hot and cold water. In another embodiment a pilot-valve 109 is actuated by stem 110 to permit inlet fluid in chamber 125 to act on the top of piston 104 to move the closure 102 and plunger 101 downwards and allow flow to outlet chamber 116.
