The diaphragm 14 or a piston located in a cylinder 13 spaced from the valve 9 is connected to the valve by a rod 12 and a lever 10. The rod 12 may operate a cam (24), Fig. 2 (not shown), against which a roller (19) on the valve lever (17) is biased. The duct 8 is connected to the exhaust duct 7 downstream of the turbine or the air intake duct upstream of the compressor.
