Abstract
1,265,693. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. UNIVERSAL OIL PRODUCTS CO. July 3, 1969 [July 9, 1968], No.33621/69. Heading G3P. [Also in Division G1] The cross-sectional area of a flexible throat of a Venturi tube 1 is varied by evacuating an air-tight compartment 4 surrounding the throat in response to changes in the pressure drop across the Venturi. When the pressure drop between points a and c reaches a pre-set value mercury 6 in a manometer 5 closes a pair of electric contacts d, e to open a solenoid valve 19 and allow compressed air to inflate a tube 14 which rotates a valve 13 against a spring 16 to increase the vacuum in chamber 4. The tube 1 is thus expanded and the original pressure drop restored. A water mist may be passed through the tube together with a particle laden gas in a scrubber system. (For Figure see next page)
