Abstract
1520673 Master alloy KAWECKI BERYLCO INDUSTRIES INC 31 Dec 1975 [24 Nov 1975] 53310/75 Addition to 1514503 Heading C7A A master alloy of greater compositional range than the Parent is within the range Sr 3-20 Si 5-28 Ca 0-4 Al Bal with Fe, Ba, Mn, Ti and Zr as impurities. The master alloy of the Parent application i.e. Sr 3-17 Si 4-28 Ca 0-1 Al Bal is disclaimed. The alloy is added to eutectic and hypo-eutectic Al-Si alloys to modify the eutectic component, the amount added being such that at least 0.005%, preferably at least 0.008% Sr remains in the cast alloy.
