Abstract

1518525 Spray carburetters CARBOECONOMY SA 29 Sept 1975 [13 Feb 1975] 39813/75 Heading F1H The convergent-divergent induction passage is controlled by a throttle member 28 to define a variable annular flow passage there-between and fuel is supplied to the passage through a plurality, e.g. twelve, outlets 22 circumferentially spaced. The member 28 is mounted on a rod 30 connected by rods 33, 34a, 34b to a manually operable lever 36b linked to the fuel metering needle 46. The member 28 is biased relative to the rod 30 by a spring (32), Fig. 4 (not shown), to engage the divergent surface 20c of the induction passage wall when the lever 36b is released. The flow passage defined between the surface of the portion 28a of the member 28 and the surface 20c has a constant outlet to inlet area ratio of about 2 and the surfaces have the included angle from 64 to 96 degrees, preferably 90 degrees. The carburetter may provide an air-fuel ratio of 19:1. A nozzle 27 provides extra fuel for starting.
