1510490 Container liners RHEEM AUSTRALIA Ltd 8 Sept 1975 [9 Sept 1974] 36878/75 Heading B8K A substantially cylindrical plastics or like liner for a container comprises at least one circular end wall a pair of diametrically opposed fold lines extending in the side wall normal to the end wall and at least two circumferential fold lines one at approximately one quarter the height of the liner from one end wall, and one at either one half or three-quarters the height of the liner from said end wall. In Fig. 1 the liner has a closed end 15, an open top 16, fold lines 17 normal to the end 15, circumferential fold lines 20, 21 at respectively one quarter and one half the height of the liner from the end 15, and oblique fold lines 18, 19 extending from the junctions of lines 17 and 20. The liner is folded to the Fig. 4 position by pushing lines 17 inwardly to form gussets and then folding in opposite senses about the lines 20 and 21. In Fig. 9 the liner is closed at each end and has three evenly spaced circumferential fold lines 34, 35, 36, axial fold lines 27A, and oblique fold lines 30A. The liner is folded by pushing lines 27A inwardly to form gussets and folding in one sense about lines 34, 36 and the opposite sense about the line 35 to obtain position of Fig. 12 with the end walls superposed. In another embodiment the line 35 is omitted so that when the liner is folded its end walls are offset. The lines may be formed by a depression or a pair of depressions moulded into the liner, or marked by paint or tape.
