Abstract

1507497 Drawers SWISH PRODUCTS Ltd 1 June 1976 [30 May 1975] 23571/75 Heading A4B [Also in Division F2] A box or tray-like structure, e.g. a drawer for furniture, is made from a set of members including a hollow plastics extruded wall member 10, which has at least one notch of trapezoidal form so that a skin 17 is left joining panel portions on either side of the notch and which when folded forms a mitred corner with a gap between the mitre faces, and a corner filler member 18, conveniently a plastics moulding, including a centre plate 19 dimensioned to fit the gap and a pair of wing portions 22 receivable within opposing hollow ends of the panel portions. As shown, the wall member has a groove 14 to receive runners, the plate 19 being correspondingly cut-away, and there are two pairs of wing portions 22 which may be a push fit, have wedge-shaped studs snapping into apertures in the skins of the wall member, or/and be secured by adhesive in hollow end portions of the panel portions. The wall member may extend around part or all of the periphery of the drawer, the ends being joined either at one corner member 18, as in Fig.1 (not shown), or in the middle of the back of the drawer by a linking member 25 having two pairs of tenons 26 fitting in the hollow panel end portions. The wall member also includes a groove 15 to receive the bottom panel of the drawer and a curved rib 16 to ensure a smooth transition between the wall portions and the bottom panel, a similar groove and rib arrangment 21 being provided on each of the corner members 18.
